NaBloPoMo

sounds weird, i know.

but let me explain myself. NaBloPoMo stands for National Blog Posting Month.

NaBloPoMo was inspired by NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) which is a challenge for writers to write a novel in one month. i’ve always thought that concept was really interesting… unfortunately i’m not one with such a talent.

NaBloPoMO however, is a challenge for bloggers to write a post every single day for one month. blogging is something i’ve been doing for years and it could potentially be the only thing i’ve kept going consistently. i have an extremely short attention span and i cannot do something for a long time because i’d get bored! (i give up too easily, don’t i? haha) still, i think blogging EVERYDAY is a challenge because 1) i don’t do it to begin with and 2) i don’t actually think i have that many interesting things to talk about everyday. sometimes, my days are boring as.

so why do it?

i think it may seem contrived to some people… having to force yourself to churn out something you think would be of interest to readers of your blog (as opposed to writing whenever you feel like you need your thoughts to be aired). however, i think it might be a good way for me to look at things of my everyday routine differently. to find a different perspective, to find something interesting about what i’m doing, to find what i really feel about what i’m doing/saying.

in other words, to help me stop. and think.
